Brevard County Divorce Records
Divorce records in Florida, also known as dissolution of marriage records, are generated during divorce proceedings. A divorce court file contains everything from the initial petition by one or both parties to the judge’s official declaration of dissolution (the divorce decree). Issues such as how assets will be split and who will have custody of the child(ren) are decided during divorce hearings. A divorce record may prove essential when an individual wishes to enforce child support orders, change their name, or remarry.
Under state law, the general public may freely view divorce case dockets, which list the parties’ names, the case number, and the timeline of events. Viewing divorce case documents typically requires registering on the court clerk’s BECA portal and using the View on Request feature. In all cases except when the requester is a qualified party under the law, confidential records (such as parental plans and financial disclosures) are withheld from public view to safeguard sensitive family information.
